Oh My Cuteness!

So my mom knew about all the little skirts I made and the vest for my nephew Vinnie and had asked me to make another one for Robert, my bonus nephew (he's my cousin's kid but nephew is easier)

Mom decided she'd be the one to accessorize the kids and got them some shirt and tights/pants to go with them. I picked up Robert for her on Friday (his mom lives by my work) and she got two of my nieces and had a little party with them.

So I made the skirts and headbands and the vest and bow tie. Aren't they just adorable?

I'm glad I didn't make the "small" vest size. I really debated on what size to make until I cut the pattern out and thought for sure that small was really small. This is the medium and he wears a size 6.

I'm kind of sad I wasn't there to see them on them but at least mom took pictures.

My mom has the outfits for the twins still, she's hoping maybe they will come over before Valentine's day. If not she will send them over for them.

And I just looked back and see I didn't actually post the skirts I made.

This one was for my friend Carolyn's granddaughter's 1st birthday. My friend Carolyn is a huge Hello Kitty fan and she is actually the reason why I started collecting some Hello Kitty fabric in the first place. (skirt pattern here)

Same pattern in a bigger size, this one is Adrian's

Emma's

why! why must you turn my pictures sideways? Ava's

I made a bunch of scrappy headbands with the scraps from making the skirts (tutorial here)

I like this bow tie pattern better than the one that I made for Robert

This pattern is actually a girl's vest (shhhh don't tell). It's an old one. I'll have to come back and add the pattern later.

I sure had fun making them all :)

Upcycled Shirt to Vest

I had made all my little girl nieces skirts for Valentine's Day and my little nephew a vest and bowtie (didn't want him to be left out!). My mom is getting Robert for the weekend and asked me if I'd make him a vest and bow tie also so that's what I did last night.

I picked up this 2XL shirt from Goodwill the other day. I had walked around looking for a nice red print just in case I found one and I decided that this one would do! I picked up some red and black fabric for the lining and collar sections not really having a total plan of what was going where.

JoAnn's had Simplicity patterns on sale for $1 so I picked up a new pattern (8023) since the one I had was not big enough for little Robert! I debated on what size to make for him since it was sized small, medium and large and I didn't have him there to measure. I decided that the small was really small so went with the medium. Hopefully it fits ok!

I think it turned out pretty cute!

I like the bowtie pattern I did for Vincent's bow tie better. next time I will do that one instead. This one had notions to go with it which I didn't realize and didn't buy so I just used the extra slide that came with the one for the back of the vest and some Velcro for a closure.

My mom is getting the boys some white shirts and pants to wear under the vests and some tops for the girls to put with their skirts. If she is successful in getting the kids to put them on I'll share pictures!

Crafting Crazy

I've been in crafter's wonderland for awhile now. Saturday I finished all the orders I had going for other people and then had a bit of "crafting block" so I just ended up watching a bunch of Netflix. (Currently I'm watching the Heartland series!)

I finally started looking through my patterns I had and then my "stash" and came up with this to make.
(Don't mind the edge of my chippy paint desk there)
I'm pretty sure I have made this pattern before since it was cut but I just don't remember what I made with it haha. I need to go find all the pictures of my old handy work some day. This pattern is a bit "old" New Look 6479

While I was making this I thought maybe I'd give it to my friend for her daughter but we decided it would be too small so I put it up for sale on my Facebook Group and it sold in like 20 minutes. Nice! I just love these prints. The entire dress (size 3) was made from two vintage sheet pillow cases (and I'm waiting for Peggy's comment on this being "vintage" haha)

After that I made this next one in a size 4 without the bottom band. The bodice part is an embroidered pillow case with some rick rack added on and then a vintage sheet I had for the skirt and ties. The pictures of this just aren't that great I need to take some in the middle of the day when we have lots of sun which is when I'm never home haha.

I love this pattern it's so easy and they are so cute! I think I'm going to make some more. I have signed up to do a craft show in a couple weekends (please God don't let it rain).  I am going try and make up a few more dresses and then do some pocket pillow cases and possibly some more coffee cozies (not sure if I shared those here yet will have to go back and look). That should be enough for my first craft show! I think this one is actually advertised and hopefully will get some traffic. Seems like a much more legit thing than the last one I did!

Mom's 65th

My mom's birthday was last (now 2) Saturdays ago (14th). She is 65 already. Wha? Crazy. I asked her what her plans were and she said to go to dinner at Sizzler. I was like hmm well guess we can come over for cake afterwards? I asked her what kind of cake she wanted and she said a spice cake so I made her one :)

Autumn Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Somehow got pictures of everyone but Me and Scott haha. Actually had one of him but it wasn't a good one ;) Oh and Trevor is there in his hoodie :/ Teenagers are strange ;)

I should just be fired

From blogging that is haha.

Apparently I didn't make a New Year's Resolution to blog daily.

So what's been going on?

We went to a New Year's Eve party down at the club. I only helped by buying party supplies off of Oriental Trading, decorating some buckets for the raffles and being part of a goofy skit. Oh yeah and serving the food and helping to clean off the tables. Then I went and hid in the bar and had a great time talking with people.

arg who is that fluffy girl.

They brought out all the photo boards I made last year, they look nice lined up like this.

Still hard to believe it's 2017!
