Last night I had to go pick up Trevor (he's 8) from my brother's house. He spent the night after the party.
He had played hard with my nephew all day and was pretty tired when I picked him up. We got in the car and he leaned his seat back a bit and looked like he was going to doze off.
Then he asks me
"how do you make a baby?"
and of course, I'm thinking OMG I thought I was going to get out of telling the boy this. I thought this was the dad's job? Slight panic
I don't even start to answer yet and he says
"I know the boy has a tadpole thing and a girl has.. "
an egg, I help
"but then does it get in there when they kiss?"
Me in my head-OMG!
Then I tell him
no it's not a tadpole, it's sperm and it gets inside when they have sex.
and he says
and then falls asleep a few minutes later. I was relieved that was the end of it.
I guess when he asks how people have sex I can let that be dad's turn?Pin It
I don't know, I preferred to tell him myself to make sure it got told correctly! But that was the age Kyle asked, on the way to a soccer game!!
I loved this.
Too funny....well for me anyways. :-)
Had the same thing with a friends daughter she had had a book to read it all & had decided to ask me the sticky points!. After doing a few OMG OMG under my breathe I said let me have a look at the book to see how far & detailed it got.So then I told her the very simple version & she said Oh now I understand & it was never mentioned again.
