Is it totally appropriate to walk around with a medal around my neck all day?
Because this chick THIS CHICK won 2nd place in her age group today!! (9th out of 78 women over all!)
To say I'm excited is such an understatement. I'm on top of the world!! Walking around like Rocky with my hands up in air fist pumping the sky!
I ran the whole thing, no walking with an average pace of 9:40 (the course was just slightly short of 3.1)
I set my audio cues with a 9:45 pace and to go off every .25 of a mile and that totally helped me keep the pace I needed to get my first sub 30 5k race.
When I was almost to the finish line I sprinted down to the finish and I was so excited that I made it just over 29 minutes!! (29:06 is my official time)
My step mom Denise also ran but she did the 10k and finished under 58 minutes. FREAKING ROCK STAR!! She got 2nd place in her age group.
My friend Eric surprised me by showing up for the race too. I could see him running ahead of me in his super bright orange shirt. It totally kept me motivated to keep running and not walk.
Of course Scott ran too.
He needs to tone done the hotness whew. He keeps getting better and better with age ;)
He's making us some breakfast now and then I'm going to take a shower and go out to the Bean Festival for awhile. It's supposed to be like 100 today.
Better take some water.
And my medal ;)Pin It
